Memória Branding

I developed a branding image for a Portuguese financial consulting company – Memória Consultores. They wanted a strong image, that would set them apart from their competition. They wanted a typographic logo and they wanted to use a blue color.

From my investigation into their competition, most companies used very simple logos (somewhat usual in B2B companies), mostly square based. To create a visual distinction from those logos, I decided to use triangles. Triangles represent power and strength, so they were appropriate in this case.

I made those two different ‘M’ icons, one conservative and one very bold. And then I created these mockups to show the client.

They really liked the slimmer, more conservative M with the top serifs, so I applied nice desaturated tones of blue to it and created the final logo:

They loved it. It’s now visible on their office’s door, business cards, and computer and smartphone wallpapers.
